MORGANTOWN, WV - Last weekend's poorest event was GW's finest this week as the George Washington gymnastics team accumulated 192.050 points to take third in a quad meet at East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) rival West Virginia Sunday afternoon. The seventh-ranked Oklahoma Sooners won the meet with a season-high 196.550. The Mountaineers edged GW for second with 192.700 as William & Mary was fourth with 187.425.

Freshman Leslie Delima set season-highs on floor, bars and beam, taking third behind a pair of Sooners in all-around with a 38.325. Senior tri-captain took fifth for the second straight meet with 38.025.

The Colonials started their afternoon on floor and racked up 48.675 points behind senior Carolyn Marckesano's 9.800. Each gymnast recorded at least a 9.650 as Delima finished second on the team with a season-high 9.775. Senior tri-captain Gillian Coleman and sophomore Megan Quinn both recorded 9.725. The 9.725 for Quinn is a career high. Senior tri-captain McKenzie Parrack rebounded nicely from last weekend's performance with a 9.650.

GW next took on vault and junior Kristen Simpson led the way once again with a 9.750. Fellow junior Erin Quigg recorded the best performance of her injury-plagued career with a personal best 9.725. Marckesano also performed solidly with a 9.625. Coleman and sophomore Christa Devine rounded out the scorers with a 9.500 and 9.275, respectively, as the Colonials accumulated 47.875 points on the apparatus, taking second to Oklahoma.

Uneven parallel bars were the third rotation for GW and Devine proved why she earned all-conference honors on the event last season with a team high 9.825. Delima and Parrack set new season-highs with a 9.725 each, while Coleman also recorded a 9.700. The Colonials accumulated 48.025 points on the event.

The final rotation was the balance beam and the Colonials racked up 47.475 points as a team, led by Plotsker's season high 9.700. Delima recorded a new personal best 9.625 to finish second on the team, as Devine took third with a 9.550. Quinn also earned a 9.450 for her performance.

GW is back in the gym next Sunday, Feb. 3 as the Colonials travel to EAGL rival North Carolina State to take on the Wolfpack, 17th ranked Auburn, and Texas Woman's University.
